Description

The GM24-CARX-AAI provides two auxiliary inputs through the factory sound system.

It also allows the sources to be selected through the radios controls (no toggle switch).

An accessory output is provided with R.A.P. (Retained Accessory Power)

Function for powering auxiliary sources (relay may be required), such as the DVD, VCR, etc.
Installation
Install the GM24-CARX-AAIs 12 pin tee and 24 pin tee harnesses at the back of the factory radio. Connect auxiliary source units female RCA jacks. The RED wire is RAP accessory out, regardless of radio setting. If more than 500mA is required, you
will have to wire a relay (shown in Fig. 1 below). If either of the audio sources require fine tuning, there are four separate level
controls on the front of the interface. Plug in the GM24-CARX-AAIs 12 pin and 24 pin female harness into the factory radio and mount
the interface within the dash of the vehicle with double sided tape or wire ties.
Using the Red/Yellow and Yellow/Red wires
The GM24-CARX-AAI provides an output that can be connected to the newly installed device for automatic turn-on. When auxiliary 1 is
selected by the radio the Red/Yellow wire will provide an accessory output (500mA maximum). An extra relay will be needed for
high current applications. The Yellow/Red wire will provide an accessory output while auxiliary 2 is selected by the radio.
Operation
The factory radio will perform like before. To activate the auxiliary functions, press the CD/Aux OR BAND button. Press the CD
button twice if equipped w/CD/AM/FM radio). To select Aux1 press REV, to select Aux2 press FWD. If the vehicle is equipped with
factory XM and the factory CD changer, the Auxiliary source will be heard through the Rear Seat Entertainment or RSE mode of
the radio. The CD/AUX button will select between Aux1 and Aux2. When equipped, steering wheel control Program button will
also toggles between the two aux sources in all modes.
