Honda dealer is telling you that adding a CD changer
will cost you a bundle. Here's a way to add CD changer entertainment to your
vehicle, and save some cash!
The Peripheral HONIL adapter
allows you to connect the Alpine CHM-S630 6-disc CD changer to certain 1998-and
up Honda radios with CD controls.
Keep in mind that these adapters are not universal — each adapter works only in
specific vehicles.
The HONIL adapter plugs into the 14-pin Molex connector on the back of the
factory radio and connects to the Alpine changer cable — you must route the
changer cable back to the Alpine changer.
Compatibility: This
interface will adapt Alpine M-Bus changers to select 1998-up Honda factory
radios with CD controls.
Connections: All the
connections are located on one side of the interface.
- The 9" cable has a 14-pin
Molex connector that interfaces with the factory radio.
- The 13" cable has an
8-pin female connector that interfaces with the Alpine M-Bus CD changer cable.
